Solo
33 minutes
Reservoir delves into the dreams we build for ourselves and the uncertainty we must learn to embrace. As the performer navigates grief and confronts the changing future they once envisioned, they let go of expectations and tap into a profound sense of hope.
This solo draws inspiration from Yiddish folk dance and contemporary movement, conjuring imagery reminiscent of the iconic Dybbuk.
Reservoir was awarded the Choreographic Work and Indoor Performance Prize at Festival Quartiers Danses in 2023.
A first draft of this solo was presented at Festival Quartiers Danses in Montreal and EDANCO Festival in The Dominican Republic. It premiered at Triskelion Arts Split Bill #42 in March 2024
Thank you to Canada Council for the Arts for their generous support of the creation of this solo.
