In their debut collaborative piece, Margolick and Ellis explore their connection to their ever-evolving relationship to femininity, and the balance between their strength and vulnerability. Seeking both discomfort and safety, they draw inspiration from the matriarchs in their lives, building toward a deeper understanding of themselves.
Early versions of Fortress have been performed in Vancouver and Sointula B.C.

This work was created through a residency in Sointula, B.C. supported by BC Movement Arts Society, The Chutzpah! Festival, and with rehearsal space support from The Dance Centre.
It’s current development in 2022/2023 is supported by Canada Council for the Arts and the Louise Bentall Award.
